Nintendo 64 Video VLC Playback problem

Issue #1447 resolved
Adriaan Visser created an issue

LaunchBox 6.8 beta 3

Windows Version: 10 Pro 64bit

Emulator: Project 64

Video: VLC

When playing Nintendo 64 Games sometimes when I choose a game to play the video stops when the emulator starts, but then starts back up again. As shown in the video attached.

Sometimes randomly I get this stack trace:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

at (VlcPlayer , IntPtr , IntPtr& )

at Meta.Vlc.Wpf.VlcPlayer.VideoLockCallback(IntPtr opaque, IntPtr& planes)

Then Big Box crashes

Thank you Adriaan, I have a ticket in with the Meta.Vlc developer to hopefully help with some of these VLC issues. I'll look into the playing during gameplay bug in the mean time though. :)

I think I've hopefully resolved the playing after starting games bug, and I'll have a new beta release out later today. If you can test with 6.8-beta-6 after it comes out, I'd appreciate it. :)

Also, it's worth noting that while we get some of these remaining VLC issues fixed, it's recommended to use Windows Media Player instead if you can.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I will test this when beta 6 comes out, and I will let you know if it has been fixed :)
