Use existing media during import

Issue #1561 new

The original forum thread at http://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/30933-migrating-from-hyperspin-and-existing-hyperspinemumovies-media

Most that are migrating (from HyperSpin at least) already have full sets and already have sync'd media. You can change the media paths in LaunchBox to point to existing media but it's an absolute pain at this point since it's per-system.

A full-blown conversion isn't needed. My point was just about the media itself since most of it already have it which takes up a ton of space. Maybe somewhere in the import process prompting if/where existing media is (G:\FrontEnds\HyperSpin\Media\MAME for example). The "script" would know if it's HyperSpin that box art is in Artwork3, cart art is in Artwork4, logos are in wheel, and videos are in videos. The filenames obviously have the exact same name and size whether Emumovies is used through HyperSync or LaunchBox.

Of course not :) For the vast majority migrating and use HyperSync to sync though, they are.

Plus 2D and 3D boxart isn't consistent as to which ones they always go in. Takes no time at all to set a few paths right after you add a new system, just do it manually.

Takes no time at all? I have about 80 systems.

If you don't want this as a feature, don't vote for it. Suggesting something we already know how to do isn't very productive.

Correct, no time at all. I added 40 systems a couple days ago and it hardly took me any extra time at all. Why not go and create a script that parses your xml and changes the paths?
