Attract Mode enhancement - play full screen videos from user-selected folder

I like Attract Mode very much, but I think a terrific enhancement would be to allow the user to select a different type of mode if desired. This "alternate" mode would be to allow the user to simply point to a folder where they could store any videos they like, and Attract Mode would choose a video at random to play fullscreen. It would continue to play one video after another, and keep looping until the user takes control.

The user might want to fill this folder with their favorite gameplay videos, or maybe some really interesting game intros that they've collected over the years (which is exactly why I'm asking for this feature).

With this feature, the user has total control over displaying what they personally feel is the best media to show off their arcade system.

I hope you'll consider adding this feature!

I think this is a great idea. Maybe another idea could be to add platforms to the "alternate" mode. You can tell it to randomly play 10 N64 videos before moving onto the next random platform and play 10 videos from that platform for example. If a platform only has 3 games or so, it could randomly select these three games and then move onto the next platform once all three games have been viewed to avoid redundant videos being played.

Another idea is to randomly play only favorited games from each platform using the same model as discussed above.

I realize this is a super old post, but I couldn’t find anything more recent that describes what I’m looking for. While the current attract mode function is great, I would much rather see full screen video playing to better emulate the look of a true arcade machine.
