Launchbox hangs for too long when switching Platforms

I have 14k unhidden games and 33 platforms in default LB platform view. Win10 x64 on ssd, LB on usb 3, media on usb 3, LB image cache on ssd. i5 2500k cpu and 8GM ram. Nvidia gtx 1070. Switching platforms takes a huge amount of time as LB is in a hung/non responsive state while waiting. This has become even worse since upgrading from 6.8 to 6.9. Setting 2GB ram for LB cache doesn't change platform switch time at all. Once the platform comes up, the games and thumbnails are fairly quick to select and scroll. Something really should be done about the time it takes to switch platforms.
