Cannot Exit Games toReturn to Launchbox

I have an x-arcade tank tick and I am running MAME 167 and Launchbox Premium 6.10. The only way I can exit my games and return to Launchbox is to press the "END" key on the keyboard. How can I exit using the tank stick?

What is weird is that MAME is set to exit ROMs with 1+3
If I have the tank stick unplugged using MAME alone 1+3 works . If I have the tank stick plugged in using MAME 1+3 does not work. I have no way to exit.
If I have the tank stick unplugged using MAME and Launch Box 1+3 does not work, I have to use END
If I have the tank stick plugged in using MAME and Launch Box 1+3 still does not work, I have to use END
I realize I could have multiple issues but when I throw Launchbox in the mix there is a change, the END key somehow becomes active and I can the exit ROMs from MAME and Exit Launchbox using the END key. Is there another configuration file somewhere for Launchbox that I may be missing?

No idea what's going on there. I guess you could check your LB MAME platform AutoHotKey tab to see if there is something in there? Is the End key mapped to something in LB key assignments found in Tools/Options?

This may sound very noob of me but how do you get to the controller assignments in MAME 167? All I see listed are all the games. In the newer versions of MAME like 177 there is a whole side panel of menu options? I placed the x-arcade.cfg file in the mame\ctrlr folder but I do not know how to modify it or map another button.

There should be something like 'customize options' then 'general inputs' when you run the MAME emu. In the general inputs you can find control settings for each user1, user2, etc. If you want to use the x-arcade.cfg file you need to add the file name without the extension to the mame.ini file under CORE INPUT OPTIONS, so would be like this in that section: ctrlr x-arcade
Try to get your MAME setup working like you wan outside of Launchbox. Once it's good, go ahead and use it with LB. I don't use that cfg file because I have my x-arcade dual joystick on a custom mode where I set the buttons to the keyboard keys that I wanted. The x-arcade site should have some help for you on how to setup with MAME as well. If you still need help try posting something on the LB forum under troubleshooting. People are very good at helping. I'm certainly not the best, but will try.

GOT IT!!!! You were right it was in the MAME emu. UI Cancel was set to END I changes it to 1+3 (well it shows as 1 3) and that fixed it. Thank you so much.

it works ok for me. you have to make sure you setup MAME settings to exit with your Escape key (or whatever key you want) and you'll also need to have the same key assigned to one of your tankstick buttons. sounds to me like your MAME is currently setup to exit with the End key.
