Updates are agonizingly slow

Whether it's launchbox itself updating to version X+1 or version X.X+1 or the game info database that needs an update, it always takes so freaking long, usually clocking in at 5 to 10 minutes on my computer, even when my wi-fi connection is at full bars. This can't just be happening to me, right?
