Remember Last Game Selected (for each platform)

Issue #2196 new
Tom Meyers created an issue

I find it a little annoying that every time I select a platform, the first game alphabetically is always highlighted. For instance, every time I select the "Arcade" platform, the game "1942" is ALWAYS highlighted and the demo video for it ALWAYS starts playing. Even if I scroll way down the list to a game like "Pac-Man", exit the platform, and then later return to the same platform, it takes me all the way back to the top of the list and "1942" is again highlighted.

When I used Maximus Arcade, it would remember the last game you had highlighted. So when you exited the platform and then later returned, it would take you back to the last highlighted game instead of the top of the list. For example, the first time I select "Arcade", the game "1942" would be highlighted. If I scrolled down to "Pac-Man" and then exited the platform, when I returned later, "Pac-Man" would be the highlighted game.

I'm assuming that remembering the last game highlighted for each platform would be pretty simple to implement and I would greatly appreciate it!

While this feature exists in BigBox, I’d like to see it as an option in LaunchBox.

Also if a game is selected within a nested category, and then a parent category selected, that same game should remain selected.

Just so we are clear nest categories do NOT have to have the same title. You can have a child playlist set up in way that items in it are NOT in the parent and so we would not always be able to do so.

Ah yeah, I didn’t realise that way possible (just tried attaching a playlist under an unrelated platform). Perhaps a best effort match, then falling back to the previous selection for that view. Or just a single previous selection per view.
