Cloud Support for ROMs (Don't clean temp dir)

Issue #2255 new
Cody Page created an issue

I have a lot of my games stored on Google Drive, and I've used a program to mount my Google Drive account as a local hard drive. Now of course these files aren't hosted locally, but I'm able to use this alongside LB and it's able to see all of my games and operate normally for the most part. I can successfully run any system up to the PS1 era, and I know this is because of the small file size. I start running into issues when I try to run anything that is in the PS2 range, because of the size of the files. I've been able to configure LB to still run PS2 games by ensuring that any PS2 game is zipped on my Google Drive first, which LB will then unzip into it's temp directory. This unzipped file is then deleted upon exiting the game, and I've tried changing permissions to the folder so that items can't be deleted, but if the file already exists then LB will fail to unzip/run the file. What I would like to accomplish is to leave the unzipped .iso in the temp directory (or any directory) so LB wouldn't have to re-download it from Google Drive and then unzip it. So essentially what I'm trying to accomplish is to host all of my Games on Google Drive, and when the game is selected via LB it will then be stored locally until I decided to delete the local copy.

If you'd be able to host everything on Google Drive, then HD space wouldn't be an issue and you'd also be able to access your games from one centralized source on every system, much like we can already do if LB is installed in the cloud as well.

This is great, glad to see that this exists.

I extracted the archive to C:\Users\username\LaunchBox\ArchiveCacheManager\ , ran the install.bat and then added a PS2 game to LB, and ensured that PCSX2 has the option to extract archives before running.

When attempting to run a game via LB, however, it will give me an error, "Archive Cache Manager can only be started via LaunchBox / BigBox. ..." After which I'll get a windows notification informing me that Archive Cache Manager hs stopped working, and then LB will inform me that 7-Zip encountered an error when trying to extract the archive.

Seems like I installed everything correctly, any ideas?

Edit: got it to work by using the uninstall.bat then trying to launch the game again via LB, worked like a dream! Thank you for this, it's pretty amazing!
