Setting 'Extract ROM archives before running' does the opposite of what is checked

Issue #2257 new
MHenry created an issue

Seen in Launchbox 7.4 - free version I've tested with NES and TG-16 using Retroarch. All my ROMs are zipped in zip files

If 'Extract ROM archives before running' is checked, when I launch a game, the ROM does not get extracted.

If 'Extract ROM archives before running' is not checked, then the ROM is extracted in the ROM's folder, remains while it is running and then disappears after the ROM/Retroarch is closed.

Does the game not run when the extract option is checked?

When the extract option is checked and you start a game, the ROM is extracted to LaunchBox\7-Zip\Temp, not to the ROM's folder. I suspect Retroarch has extracted the ROM you see when the extract option is unchecked.

Can you verify the ROM file is in the above directory? (you have to check while the game is running)

    The game runs either way.

If the option is checked, it does extract to Launchbox\7-Zip\Temp. Otherwise, it extracts in the ROM folder which could be Retroarch as you said. I didn't know Retroarch extracted the ROMs first and to the ROM folder.

Looks like there is no issue. Thanks!
