Platform rename erases data, shows duplicate platforms

Issue #2350 new
fraganator created an issue

Steps to reproduce:

  • Import a ROM to create and populate a platform (e.g. Sega CD)
  • Go to Tools -> Manage Platforms and select the new platform, then hit Edit
  • Give the platform a new name (e.g. Sega Mega-CD), then hit OK
  • The platform is now listed twice, with both the old name and new name (only the new platform name should exist here).
  • Close this dialog, then reopen it through Tools -> Manage Platforms.
  • Only one platform with the new name is listed (as expected). Edit the platform.
  • All of the platform information has been erased.

Interestingly this does not occur when renaming Sega Genesis to Sega Mega Drive, but does occur if renaming Sega Genesis to say Sega MD.

In any case, the platform information should not be deleted when simply renaming the platform, regardless of whether the platform name is official on not.

Tested on:

  • Windows 8.1 Pro
  • LaunchBox 7.5-beta-4
