Games no longer work when making Unique Platform Categories

Issue #2446 new

Because the Platforms use specific file paths, it's not actually possible to make unique platform sub categories.

Here I've made separate categories to organise games into folders by category, but each obviously still needs to use the MAME emulator.

Whilst Launchbox makes relative name folders for the new sub platform categories, when you open up the rom paths for the game you try to load in that category, it's all still correct, however Launchbox opens the Zip file instead of using the emulator.

It would seem when making new platforms you wish to make use the same emulator, Launchbox doesn't always copy this property across.

Other instance this is COMPULSARY to do, is for example SEGA Fusion which has Mega Drive, Master System, Sega CD etc. If they were all in a SEGA folder originally working fine, and you copied the SEGA CD games into their own platform, and wish to keep these roms using the same emulator, they will lose the details which assign them to the Fusion emulator, when using Bulk edit to move them into new platform.

If you then proceed to tell it to go BACK to the original MAME Platform, it asks you to assign an emulator, and when you choose MAME like it used to be, you recieve a message saying, "An Emulator exists with the name you've specified, please choose another name"..... but THATS the emulator you need it to be.

I've done a lot of testing today with this to see if I can help, but it seems it doesn't happen always. For most of the part, the games do load up fine, but just a couple when changing their platform, lose their emulator path for some strange reason.

I have discovered that on certain games, using the SINGLE game edit button, changing the platform can CLEAR the emulator tab !!! aha! (This does not happen when using BULK EDIT so far, so as long as you're changing multiple games at the same time, it should be ok)
