Consolidate ROMs issue
Hi, I consolidated all my roms. The issue is I don't know, which games have two roms now. They disappeared. Is there a way to make LB show, which games contain more than one version/rom? Maybe in the details panel? If LB does not show me, which game has more than one rom in it, then I won't be able to find many roms. They will disappear forever. Right clicking each game to check this out is not the best idea.
Thanks. Keep up the good work.

reporter Maybe sort by/arrange by could solve this. Option to sort by the numer of game roms so that I could separate the games, which contain more than one version.

An icon in a corner of the Images or an Icon infront of the Game Titles would solve this problem in a stylish way. All games including more than 1 file should get this icon/sign/mark. No matter if its a multi disc game like for sega cd or multiple romversions and regions.

If both of you like this issue you should vote for it

Thanks Derek Smith for the "vote" hint. Didn´t knew it, am relative new here. :)

reporter Concerning this, LB should also indicate that there are roms on other platforms. Just like Mobygames does. Mobygames tells me on which other platforms games are available, for instance,
"Also For: Atari ST, Commodore 64, DOS, J2MEAtari ST, Commodore 64, DOS, J2ME"

First i thought this would be easy to do. But now it sounds to be alot of work and way more complicated than i thought. Anyway i still like the idea.

reporter I think a perfect solution would be small icons in the details panel that would tell us that particular game exist on other platforms. And when you click on that icon, say dos or amiga icon, it takes (links) you to that game on that platform. Nice and very convinient.
Currently, I have a few versions of the same games on other platforms, and I have no idea about them. I would have to check each game one by one using the search bar and arrange by. Kind of tedious.
Of course, regions and roms from the same platfoms could be presented by proper icons, too.

I missed this issue when I logged mine. #2569. Since mine covers the same issue as this one, you can ignore my request.

reporter When I use import new games, LB puts a name version into the version field. And this helps. But when I use consolidate roms option it duplicates the game names instead. It's a bug?
-
reporter Basically, it doesn't even duplicate the names. It puts the games names instead of versions.
-
reporter I know why it's the case. It is because consolidate feature does not include the option to add games based on the folders names. Scan for roms also misses that features. It causes problems later to games, which were added this way (names by folders) because this option is missing and names do not agree (folder names vs files names).
-
reporter Also, games that were added by folder names do not work well in audit mode. Namely, the duplicated games are not marked or highlighted because LB cannot see them. LB recognizes filenames, which are different but unreadable. And the duplicated game names (imported by folder names) stay the same.
-
reporter And LB does not even read from filenames during consolidation. It reads the filenames from xml file.
-
reporter Strangely enough, when I use combine games, they get combined correctly (with a version name). When I use consolidate, it puts rom names from xml.
-
reporter But when I try to expand the combined games, only one of them stays. The rest of them disappear.
-
reporter OK, I found some solution. I had to put all the folders into zips, then use options: extract rom archives and use file name only without file extension. Both have to be checked, so please never remove them. LB should read correct rom versions now when consolidating the games, I think.
