Allow listing multiple sources

Issue #272 new
Former user created an issue

I use LaunchBox as a general database of my entire gaming collection, and there are several games that I own either on different systems, or on different storefronts, and I'd like to be able to check off multiple sources for my games (for example a game that I own on both Steam and GOG, I'd like to be able to check off both Steam and GOG as sources).

I'd really appreciate this as an update, and it would make things more convenient and comprehensive for me.

Thank you.

i want to be able to add my GOG library as one of the platforms. Which.... BTW... i was naive thinking that Steam would be a platform also... but it put all of those game under PC Games along with all the random games i have installed on my system... i have spent the past week separating them out. i have noticed that LaunchBox DID NOT import all of my Steam games. So what do i do now?? Do another Import?.... and watch LaunchBox import all of my PC games that don't belong to Steam..!!!! i also don't understand why it would import all titles... i thought it would just import for the games i have installed.... that is just so crazy.!!! .....But, Yeah... i want to be able to import my GOG library.. and have GOG be a platform and NOT have all of those games all lumped up with my Steam games and my regular PC Games. So Stupid.. i can't believe i was such a sucker buying this software...!!!! One born every minute.

Hello, David. I'm happy to give you a refund if you're unsatisfied. For what it's worth there are ways to separate out Steam and GOG via platforms if that's what you want to do. Games that are imported from Steam all have a Source of Steam and I believe also have a Status of Imported from Steam. So you can filter just to those games and easily change the platform for all of them.

Let me know if you still want a refund and I'll gladly send it out. For heaven's sake, I'm not out to "sucker" anyone.

Thanks, David. Glad to hear you've chosen to run with it. Feel free to add separate tickets for stuff like a separate GOG import, etc. We like to keep things in separate tickets so that we can track them all easily. Thanks!

No worries, it happens. If you need help in configuring your set up then take a look at our Tutorials, they should help you get set up.

As for scraping, you'll have the best results if you use the Drop down list when adding systems. There may be some games with no metadata or images though.

I am going to close this ticket then if you are satisfied. If you need it re-opened or you need to create new tickets please feel free to do so.
