Hoping for a couple of years now this option will be implemented because personally I prefer a clean theme (without backgrounds) but it doesn't look great on especially a lighter background color. (It's kind of bugging me because I have Launchbox visible most of the time since I use Windows solely for games.)
I think it would look much cleaner with shadows off or a more subtle drop shadow:
