Feature request: Special Game menu/right-click entries to set "Hide" and "Favorites" attribute

Issue #2837 new
Former user created an issue

Hi,

I am OCD about metadata, and using LaunchBox is a complete joy.

SUGGESTION: Allow one-click editing of "hide" and "favorite" bits in the game right-click menu.

Current user behavior for setting a game's "Hide" attribute to "true". 1. Right-click game. 2. In metadata edit dialog, check the "Hide" check box. 3. Click OK to save changes.

Proposed user behavior: 1. Right-click game. 2. Select "Hide" entry in right-click menu.

Notes: - There are only a handful of data point that it seems sensible to allow edits in this way. Looking at the game metadata fields, I would suggest that only "Hide" and "Favorites" warrant a "promotion" to the right-click menu itself.

  • Perhaps the right-click menu command could have a visual indicator whether the bit is set, similar to what currently exists for many entries in the View menu (Show Hidden Games, Show Broken Games, etc.).

  • It would be cool if these commands were also added to the Game menu in the top tool bar, perhaps with an associated keyboard shortcut.

Thanks, Aaron
