Launch Box / Big Box painfully slow

Launch box works fine for navigating games and launching, but freezes for a while when accessing the options menu or making any changes in options.. but Big Box Mode just hangs at the splash screen... it rarely loads. When it does, it freezes when navigating the options menu. No disk usage, no CPU usage, memory goes up to 400MB and then drops to 6MB.

The last time it loaded it just took around 5 minutes or so to load Big Box...
