Can't write to hardrive

Hi I am enjoying this software a lot so far and want to use an internal 500gb hdd I instal or unpack launchbox into the default location (c drive, user, username) and copy the folder to my formatted drive labeled with drive letter e. Once I start adding my emulator and roms through the setup wizard it says I need write permisions before I can continue. What would cause this?
