Being able to force bigbox in a certain aspect ratio

I'm using an ultrawide monitor which has a 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3440x1440. It looks great and Bigbox works fine (and a lot better than Hyperspin which looks horrible).

The thing is, pretty much all media files like movies, videos, backgrounds etc. etc. are created for 16:9 monitors. I tried a platform video on my monitor and it just doesn't look very good at all. Although, I have to say Bigbox does handle it pretty well compared to other frontends. It just doesn't look very well in my opinion.

So, I would like to be able to force Bigbox in a certain aspect ratio with black bars on the sides. I also asked this question on the forum here: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/40386-is-it-possible-to-force-bigbox-in-a-certain-aspect-ratio/

Someone linked to a program there that maybe could do it, but it wasn't that great because it forced the whole video output to another resolution. That's not what I want. I want bigbox running at native resolution, but with a properly resized content area with its own black bars on the sides (or possibly even custom borders/overlays, but that's by far not really necessary) like most emulators do. I hope that makes sense.
