SNES9X Save Issue

Spent 3 hours playing LOTZ for the SNES. Loaded the game / emulator via Big Box. When done playing, I saved and quit to the main menu, then used the button combination to quit the emulator and go back to the Big Box menu.

Went back in to the game just now, and nothing had saved. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it is very aggravating.
