Implement LB as a libretro core loader.

Issue #4489 invalid

Ok this sounds a bit far fetched, but hear me out first.

LB seems to be "in love" with RetroArch as many implementation videos are based on it (instead of directly using some emulators). RetroArch is just a "front-end" (that on its own sucks too, I can't stand RA interface) to running libretro cores. Why not LB do it itself instead and skip a layer? Kodi is about to do it (which is not even a game related front-end directly). Even if you don't think about it now, maybe in a year or so, you will rethink about it.

After all if Kodi implements it, it might be interesting to see a mixed Kodi/LB setup (that many people already have) to skip using RA at all (LB to call Kodi gaming interface instead).

Maybe it deserves to get in the next feature vote list and see how it goes?

This would be a licensing issue. We've already talked with the Retroarch team about the possibility of including Retroarch with LaunchBox, and they gave us a big fat no. So we couldn't do this if we wanted to, and it would also be a huge waste of time considering the amount of effort that would be required.

Thank you Jason. Never realized a license issue would come up. Thought libretro is open source.

One more reason to NOT like it.

    Thanks again. Invalid I guess.
