More extensive options when importing MAME roms.
Issue #4549
new
MAME roms mean a wide variety of things, from Arcade games, to Printers. I do enjoy the MAME full-set importing feature, and enjoy how I can now put clones as additional apps for games.
However, I do would like to see more option to add/limit games for the system. While there's already options for this (Bootleg/Hacks/Mature, Mechincal, Non Arcade games), there's some features I would like to be added.
- Because of the wide variety of games on MAME, it's obviously near-impossible to create a one-size-fits-all control scheme. A good Idea would be an option to set what controls you have available such as the Number of Players, Buttons available, whether you have a wheel/trackball/light-gun/slider.
- MAME has expanded outside the realm of Arcade for a while, and have recently also been supporting LCD screen games such as Game & Watch, and Tiger games. I believe there should be a Playlist/Platform for Non-Arcade games, to allow them to be imported in the MAME fullset without having them be in an "Arcade" platform, or to have a "MAME" should one wish to keep these all in. I think the same should apply to Mechanical games as well.
Thank you for keeping this proposal in mind.
