Add more details to side bar for platforms

The side bar could be vastly improved by displaying more than the system name (or another variable) and the game count. It would be great if we could configure it, for example:

Platform Category Platform name [year]

or

Platform Category Year - Platform name

I hope I am making this clear. The ability to customise some extent what is shown in the side bar, rather than just what it is sorted by.
