Cloud Save Support

Issue #4980 new

This would be a feature similar to the Steam cloud save, however it could be customized to simply make local backups to other hard drives or utilize free cloud storage such as Dropbox or Google Drive. There is a freeware (donations welcome) software known as “GameSave Manager” developed by InsaneMatt & friends that accomplishes this in a fairly intuitive way. A feature like this would also be welcome with the added Android support in that, after playing through some final fantasy or pokemon on your desktop computer, as long as the roms are supported on android, the save states can be synchronized via the cloud and continue playing where you left off on your android phone.

For simplicity, I’ve attached the zip file of this software. It may be installed but is designed to work as a portable program similar to launchbox.

Would also love a similar feature to come to Android version of Launchbox using google drive - even if it had to be limited to just retroarch cores saves and savestates and retroarch had to be configured to save those items into custom folders so Launchbox for Android could have read/write access to those files.

Yes! Cloud save support for the win! I’d love to be able to start a game one one machine, save, and pick up on a different device.

that sound very challenging due to the fact of different emulators. I am doing this at this moment via syncthing and one drive

Also an integration/version could mean that you know that you backed up your games because I’m not always sure with game save manager has I have a ton of different save game files.
