[Feature Request] Muting audio until the startup screen falls off

Issue #5050 new

I’m not sure how big of a deal this would be to implement, but in the vein of cleaning things up - It would be great if audio can be muted until the startup screen disappears.

Many emulators arent true, exclusive fullscreen and as such require you to try and dial in your startup screen as best as you can.

This is complicated by sleeping drives, frontends like retroarch that handle multiple platforms, and even specific games and how they startup.

This came to light when loading an NES game (final fantasy) that immediately plays music upon loading. My startup screen was still present, yet music was blaring behind it.

The first thought was to dial back the startup screen, and I did. It masked the issue, but left me with a startup screen far too short for most of the other RA platforms that load slower, some substantially so.

Same with pcsx2. The bios intro plays audio immediately, so the start screen needs to be dialed back. If you want to hide the bios screen and use the startup screen up until the point a game shows up or something - your SoL due to the audio.

Or for folks that want to use a uniform startscreen time across platforms etc. Im sure you get the idea 🙂
