Using LaunchBox/BigBox as an archive

Issue #5070 invalid

Hi!

I’m trying to get some info if my idea is already possible in the current version of LaunchBox, but will send this out as well just in case, because it is most likely not a thing yet.

The feature that I would like LaunchBox to have is:

so you have a few consoles with a lot of game backups already installed on them, but you have so many that you don't really know what games you have there and you get that weird feeling that you don’t have anything to play(feeling that most game collectors get).

Thus you want to make a list of all the games on each of your consoles and have for each game it’s box picture, a description and some small video of gameplay.

And that’s where LaunchBox, actually BigBox would be more suited for this because it already has all those features, but the thing is you need to have the actual iso and/or emulator installed or on your pc for LaunchBox/BigBox to be able to see the games and show you those details about the game.

So, finally to the request itself. Could you add an option to add games manually without needing the iso or emulator(a virtual game if you will) for that specific console or gaming device so we can get a full archive of what games we have with details about them and maybe a random button to suggest a game from a specific platform or genre. Basically, exactly BigBox but without the need of the actual game isos.

Thank you in advance and sorry if this is already possible within the options available in the current version of the program.

Cheers!

Hi Alex, you can indeed add games without having the associated ROM files. Just use the Add button in the bottom right.
