Keep position when deleting games (Not Image Views)

Issue #5125 new
Noel Estep created an issue

Currently when you delete a game in launchbox, the list view refreshes and places you at the top of the list of games. It would make things much easier if it would remember your position and scroll back to where in the game list you deleted the previous game.

I’m performing an audit of my collection and it would be far easier to not have to scroll back to where I was every time I delete a game.

I was about to report this myself. I’m sure the old behavior was to select the game before the deleted one in the list and scroll there. Now we get dumped back at the top of the list. With a large list, it can a while to get back to where you were.

If you are on the latest stable version 10.10 you will need to turn on Dynamic Box Sizing to correct this. It is a characteristic of that scaling. In Launchbox go to >Tools>Options and in the >Visuals>Boxes items uncheck to box for “Dynamic Box Sizing”. It has been reported on the forum and this option was added in the latest stable to help remedy.

Just tested it again with the box checked. No change. Still scrolls you to the top after you delete a game. When I opened the ticket I was actually talking about the list view though.

Well shoot, that makes a difference. Yes, the option I mentioned only affects image views. This will likely be low on the item of fixes as it is not brought up much since most users appear to not use the actual list names much. I will let the team know though.

Would you mind editing your original post to specify (Not Image Views).

I am using images (sorry for unintentionally hijacking this issue). With images, unchecking ‘Dynamic Box Sizing’ does stop the problem, but then, obviously, you lose dynamic box sizing. It would be nice to see a proper fix.

I changed the description - thank you for the prompt response and for the workaround! I read your comment wrong first - you need to uncheck the “dynamic box sizing” checkbox to get the boxes view to not take you to the top when deleting a game. That will help me for now, thanks again!
