Option to copy MAME ROMS that are fitered when using the import an entire MAME set feature in LB.

Issue #5137 new
Matt created an issue

Hello,

‌ Currently, when using the import entire mame set feature, LB will use the roms in their current location and simply make a new XML list that doesn’t include the types of roms that were selected to be filtered out (fruit, casino, adult, etc). I realize that the roms are moved at all because this would break mame for many novice users and that would cause headaches for you. however, for people who are making a new image from an external drive with roms on it, for example, it would be VERY convenient and save a lot of time if you offered the option to COPY the selected roms (that weren’t filtered out) to a folder.

This way, i can just move those resulting 2,800 roms over to the arcade folder in LB and point MAME to look there for roms, instead of being stuck with all 30,000+ roms residing only on an external drive.

Thank you!

Have you tried using the “Extract/Copy Rom Files from Selected Game Path” that is located under Tools in Launchbox? I have not tried to use it on the full Mame import so not sure if it will work. Be mindful if it does, it only moves game files not supported files some games may need like bios, qsound and other support files.
