Method to add Windows games

Issue #538 new

Hi there, I have read in the forum a few threads where you mention adding a method to add Windows games to LaunchBox. One method mentioned would be a drag and drop that I would hope could do either one or multiples of .exe's at the same time. Another possibility would be adding a spot in the tools drop down for a person to add a folder containing all of the game installs or a folder containing all of the .exe's. For example, on my computer I have a folder containing all of the executables for all of my windows games. It would be wonderful to be able to add the entire folder of 200+ games all at once. One by one is a very tedious task that I have been putting off for hopes that this feature will be added. Thanks so much for the wonderful software!!!!

There is a Windows importer that should work to find most games. Drag and Drop is one method, but should work with them all. Another work around is to use the add button at the bottom left of LaunchBox. You can also use the Rom importer even, select the folder you want to use or use the add files option to search out all the exe's with the Windows Search function. Once they're added, you can open the category, click a game and Ctrl + A to highlight them. Select "Use Emulator" then no. This will tell all the games to not use an emulator and should work just fine. However, the windows importer has worked for me in the past, except for games that weren't properly installed.
