Game Categories for Platforms
Greetings, Jason!
In my LaunchBox library, I have a LOT of homebrew games and demos, and it is annoying when I want to play a game that was released physically (not to mention it doesn’t look very pretty). I have to go searching through the platform I want to find the game I want, and that can be hundreds of titles. So I would appreciate it if this concept was considered.
Say, I have the Game Boy Advance platform on the sidebar. If a specific option was enabled, games could have a category assigned to them, in this case, being, Released, Homebrew, ROM Hacks, Unlicensed, or Prototypes, but the user can change the name of the categories and have as many as they want.
The sidebar would appear as:
▶ Nintendo Game Boy Advance
Released
Homebrew
ROM Hacks
Unlicensed
Prototypes
And selecting a category would show the games with that category applied to them. Selecting the platform name would have all the games on that platform appear, as they currently do.
If the view “Platform Category” were to be selected, then the sidebar would appear like this:
▶ Handhelds
▶ Nintendo Game Boy Advance
Released
Homebrew
ROM Hacks
Unlicensed
Prototypes
I would be totally fine if this was made as a premium-only feature. It would really give me a good reason to buy it.
Thanks for considering!

Playlists and Platform Categories already make this a possibility (unless I am misunderstanding your request)

- changed status to invalid
Closing at this time as it sounds like OP is asking for a feature already implemented.

reporter Could we get an option to select what playlists you want to put games when you import them?

Until a time when possibly a point and click like this is implemented you can, for now, simply make playlists for all these. That is how many on the forum have done it. You can then change the parent location of the playlist to have it show under each specified platform.
