After 'Scan for Added rom', Some Roms are still not added.

Issue #5738 new
hyeong jin kim created an issue

Hello, Please understand English is not my first language.

Thanks for your feedback last time, It becomes much more comfortable.

However as the title, I added some roms in my library folder and clicked ‘scan for added rom’. Nevertheless, launchbox missed some roms. Of course, I set platform game folder properly.

For example, attach 1 is part of my ps2 library, scan for added rom feature says there is no additional roms (attach2), but as you see, there is no formula front Korea version, nexus Korea version, and also nine breaker only shows USA version.

I don’t know why something’s added well and something’s not added.

  1. not extension problem. other iso files added well.
  2. file naming scheme is same as others.
  3. not only happens in ps2 roms. i checked other platform, other platform(nintendo wii) also has missing roms issue.

Please check this issue. thanks for read!

Thanks for the report. It sounds like the feature is working as intended however. The “Scan for Added Roms” will only add a rom file for a game not already in your collection. Because the rom file you are scanning for is for a game already in your library we pass over it.

Hmm.. So, If I want add other region of the game, what should I do? Do I have to delete existing game no matter what and reimport game again?

I don’t think that’s not a good way. Problem is, If i add one or two items, its fine. But I added hundred of korean(my country) region roms. I think it will take too long to check one by one. Should I delete whole ps2 library and reimport games? T_T

Should be able to use the normal import process. It won’t import a file already in your collection

I tried import-force importing duplicate games, It literally created a copy of all the existed games. o_O

It seems there is no function I want, so I think better to post feature request myself. Thanks for reply.
