Resume media and metadata refresh

Issue #5768 resolved
M R created an issue

So I have a lot of games under my Launchbox belt. So much that I have thousands of videos and pictures on my hdd. So every now and then I see repeat or completely wrong photos from a long time of using launchbox. It takes at least a full week to fully refresh my database.

My proposal: Allow there to be some way to resume your database update if your computer accidentally shuts down, theres a power outage, or something happens and launchbox closes.

Asking for clarification purposes. Why isn’t running the “Download Metadata and Media” tool and selecting “Do not replace” (the recommended setting) suitable for you and this use case, and what are hoping this new process will do differently that it?

This is just a special case. I noticed a lot of my images were mixed up somehow and I had an NES scientist game photo for nearly all of my Genesis games for some reason, so I wanted to clean all the old images and download the correct ones by replacing them.

But its in the spirit of… anything really. Say you just started fresh and had a ton of roms to add. For instance, 600 NES games. Thats at least 6 images per game, plus emu movies. That takes a long time.

I would love to be able to pause that, turn off my computer, then continue where I left off the next day.

This feature is part of the 11.12 release. Downloading media and the actual game imports are now two separate processes. The media download pauses and resumes on close and open of LaunchBox.
