Option to extract all additional apps when launching the game
Hi,
This should be relatively easy to do and make some of our lives easier
Most of the TOSEC and similar collections are zipped per disk/cart. When combining the games as a single entry in LB, multi-disk games become a hassle - in practice we have to manually locate and extract the other disks to continue playing the games. Now of course we could simply add all disks to the same archive, but the next update to the collection would destroy all the hard work, create duplicates etc annoyances.
I’d like to have an option to extract both the game and all additional apps to temp directory when launching the games so that they are easily available when playing the game. Having this as an option would make sure nobody’s user experience suffers in case they have piled their collections differently.

Sounds like fraganator has a work around plugin for you. Will leave the topic open as a feature request to see how many users would desire this functionality in the main application.
I would also consider converting your collection to CHD which a single file archive for disk based games that most emulators now support. Allows the space savings of compressed files without the need to deal with extraction to run your games.

reporter Excellent! Thank you @fraganator for your work, didn’t know that plugin existed; now I do and I’m going in :)

Hi Viri Tys,
If this is a feature you’re still interested in, I recently added multi-disc support to the Archive Cache Manager plugin. It now has the option to automatically extract all additional apps which make up a multi-disc game, and also generate an M3U playlist file of the extracted files if supported by the emulator.
