Batch import archives of games

I currently have a large hard drive filled with a mix of backups of physical copies of games I own, along with DRM-free titles I acquired from Humble Trove, itch.io and abandonware sites. I do not plan on having all the games installed onto the computer at the same time, but I still need a more visual representation of the digital collection for when I’m looking for a title of a specific genre or style.

So far my only solution is to painstakingly add each individual entry through the add game option, even if I give no path to the game itself, because the game is obviously not installed.

While for the average user who runs a hard drive with unpacked roms (or even packed for some emulators) doesn’t need this, those who archive PC games see themselves facing an uphill battle.

A proposed solution is an added option at the end of the import game list as “Import archives as entries”, just so we can have the metadata for said games and sift through our digital collections looking by the cover rather than our windows explorer window.
