Mame Arcade Fullset importer update

What’s great about Mame is that it’s a great archival source of clean roms well managed and regularly updated. What’s bad is that the users don’t need approximately 98% of the Mame fullset. The current Mame Arcade Fullset importer of Launchbox have been of a great help to cut the majority of the Mame junk. Unfortunately we still don’t need all the remaining games after the cleanup because of the limitations of the system the games are being played on.

What would be really interesting to add to the current Mame Arcade Fullset importer is some more options. I know Lightspeed had those options, still I don’t know every possible options. But looking back at this software would be a great start. In my case the games I’d like to be removed when I update my Mame set are following those criterias.

• Removing games that have more than 2 players
• Removing games that have more than 8 buttons (excluding COIN and START buttons)
• Removing games that aren't 4 way or 8 way (analog joy, lightgun, spinner, rotating joy, etc)

So as we can see here, I want to remove the games that doesn’t fit my control panel configuration.

I know how well Jason work just by looking at the immensity of what LB have become. I hope one day we could have a super complete, up-to-date Mame importer filter. That would definitely help more than just LB users but all home arcade owners!
