Some RetroArch Cores not loading through LaunchBox

Issue #599 invalid
Former user created an issue

Some (not all) RetroArch cores are not loading through LaunchBox (or BigBox) after RetroArch was updated to 1.3.2.

When I load the cores and roms directly from RetroArch they work perfectly. So the issue is on the LaunchBox side.

For example.. - 3D0 does not load through LaunchBox but does through RetroArch natively. - GameBoy Advance, SNES, Genesis do load through LB and RA

RetroArch is working and in some cases working with LaunchBox, just seems to be issues with LB telling RA to load specific cores?

I got the same issue my self. RetroArch just opens up the home page with no core and no game as if I manually clicked on the EXE file in my /emus dir. LaunchBox ought to have better RetroArch support, better yet, it should be integrated.

Integration isn't that easy, and we do have good RA support. Granted we do think things can always be improved but at the end of the day we need to play in their sandbox with their emulator. The systems that are in place are because this is how it has to be set up. Even if we integrated in someway, it would be the same results done a bit differently. Cores would still need to be linked, the system folder would still need to be identified (because they don't default to the system folder) and rom's would still need to be imported. The only thing that could be taken out is telling LaunchBox where your RA exe is located. Realistically, nothing changes.
