Feature Request: Update 3D Box Art Launchbox Thumbnails Using Existing Box Art

So as anyone who’s ever used and loved the 3D Box Art display in launchbox it’s obvious that the content is severely lacking whereas the Box Art option seems to get all the attention as just about every game has it. However, “3D Box Art” can easily be Automatically generated by taking existing Box Art Images and titling them to the appropriate angle then applying the “glare” to the cover and other areas as seen with existing 3D Box Art and simply applying a Generic side-of-box image that displays the Console name with the appropriate Font. I’d much rather see this implemented that way literally completing all the missing 3D Box Art rather than someone having to scan or construct 100% accurate 3D Box Art from scratch. Sure it may not have the Batman Logo on the side or w/e but we already have the Box Art for EVERY game and maybe only 60% 3D Box Art. So the logical and easiest way to complete the 3D Box Art availability is to simple take existing Box Art, turn it at the default angle that 3D Box Art already is at, add the “box glare” add the default Console logo on side-of-box and BOOM no more 20% / 30% / 40% / 60% missing images when using the 3D Box Art view option. I’m sure some1 with graphics and coding knowledge could easily take the existing box art database and create a 1:1 matching 3D Box Art database. As of now the 3D Box Art isn’t usable because of the amount of missing selections and yet it’s probably the best and coolest display type in Launchbox which is why I’m writing this. Leaving ticket open so we can consider the proposal, but this does sound like a good opportunity (especially given your experience) for a plugin. You would then be able to use it to fill the holes in your collection without negatively impacting those that only want an accurate 3D box of the title. I’m sure there are like minded individuals on the forums that would love such a plugin as well. Alternatively you could also look for 3D boxes on the forum, a lot of users have been uploading artwork packs on there that have not been uploaded to the database, they may also help in your endeavor while waiting on any developments from us.
