Custom theme image overrides for platform fan art should work in games view

Currently, if I want to use a platform-specific image as a background for both filters/platform views and games views, I have to put images into the LB installation:

images/platforms/*platformname*/fanart

Custom themes can provide/override the platform fan art, but the theme fanart images only work in the filters/platform views. If I want my theme to display platform-specific images (according to the actively selected game) as a background in the games view, the user then has to manually place the correct images into the LB images folder, which is not ideal.
