BigBox Home Menu: Why don't we have one?

I always found it strange, after the splash screen, some platform already appears playing video or image. I think BigBox should have a neutral home menu, where we can make initial choices and only then the platform videos and images appear. Being able to choose where to start on the next boot is a great thing, but we don't have a home screen as an option. That's why I wanted see the home menu in future updates.
I also find it frustrating, many people on the forum suggest we make our own changes as a solution to our wishes. That's why I came here set this request. I would be happy to see improvements like this on BigBox. It has been around for many years and deserves more polishing.

Again, this is already possible using the Platform Category view so I’m not entirely sure what makes your request different from what we already have implemented.

OK, let's focus now on the Home Menu idea. Well, it seems disorganized that after splash screem you fall straight into a platform or category, don't you think? Think you want before go to options in your Big Box. Currently, you need to keep pressing the "B button" several times to get to the menu where Options Menu is waiting for you. Likewise, you need to go back a few steps using the "B button" to access the BigBox settings menu. I think we should have a welcome screen that asks you, "Hello Christian, where do you want to go now?

In your 1st image that is just a platform category. using this particular theme you designed to select a category I simply use my select button I mapped in my set-up or “A” as in your image. This is currently available in BigBox, just not in this image style you have designed.
If I press the back button I have bound in my setup or “B” based on your set-up image I go to the settings. This is also currently how a Platform Category view works.
The only thing different you are really adding is a button to take you to the last platform and the “more” button. However, your more button is just going to “more” settings/options which already exists. Other than that using Platform Categories gets exactly what you are describing.
You say it is more disorganized that after boot up you fall into a category, but that is exactly what you designed in your images.
I do agree the option to go to last platform viewed from the Platform Category I think it is a nice QOL feature to add. The “More” option would be good to jump directly into the filter options BB has. So your request does have some good ideas for feature updates.

As stated to you in the forum post, your request is asking for the same thing already provided by the Platform Category view. Could you explain what makes your request different from that view?
