Media Downloads Freeze

12.10 Beta 4 (but same was happening in 12.9 and 12.10 beta 3)

Windows 10

9 out of 10 times i try to update/download media files

Update Metada/Media, choosing all assets for both LaunchBox game db and Emumovies

No error received, the download progress freezes at random stages and no longer progresses even after a couple of hours of wait. restarting LaunchBox just restarts the process of downloading the assets which takes forever (EmuMovies tool downloads the same assets in less than an hour)

Right now there is a known issue on EmuMovies end (related to their server and bandwidth). Do you have the same issue if you don’t select any items from EmuMovies?

slow downloads and timeout just with emumovies
though have 2 issues common to both.

1. at the end of the download if there were a lot of items, at the very end it freezes. as in the task does not complete and LaunchBox needs to be restarted.
2. had 3 times an exception with null value (will copy the full error message when it happens again, but usually happens after the download task finishes)

and there is some issue with the task list generation.

the game number does not changes, but selecting to download the metadata and media with the “update missing” provides inconsistent results. eg below, an attempted update after clean up:
