New feature: add mutiple roms/hacked roms of the same game

Issue #6914 invalid

Hi, i think that it could be useful to add multiple roms of the the same game without add them as separate games. For example, i would like to add Super Metroid for Super Nes: i have the original rom, SUper MEtroid Eris and the REDUX hack. If i want to add the 3 games, i have to consider them as separate games.

It couls be useful to add the game one time, and then add different versions/hacks of the same game.

It could be really useful to add a specific badge that can immediately identify games with this special feature.

thanks!

There’s a Combine games feature that may work for you. Select both games, right click and choose Combine Selected Game. You then can right click the game entry and choose to play which game you would like to play. You’ll then get a badge that will denote that the game has multiple versions.

Additionally, you could right click a game, go into Additional Apps, and manually add different versions of games this way as well.

You can manually combine games after import as Brian stated. You can also check the "Combine Roms" box in the Custom Options page of the import wizard to do this automatically on import

You can add roms the way you shown in the first image. You can also just run Rom Import Wizard (if the roms aren’t imported already) and check the “Combine Games with same title” checkbox in the options page and run the import. You can also (if games imported already) select all the items and then right click and select combine.

You can set the application name to what ever you want and it will appear with that name in the Edit Game and Context menus. App name can be seen in your first image, it’s the top most field
