"Export to Android" No longer works in latest Build

I spent ages selecting a specific 100 games from a larger collection I wanted to export, used the Export to Android tool, and it ignores the selection and exports the entire collection regardless of options.

I tried to recreate this bug by only selecting and exporting 1 single game, but yes it always exports the entire collection every time sadly. Really need this feature right now as I took holiday off specifically to spend time playing with Launchbox and it’s not working aghhhhhhh. Hope you know what the issue is and could fix this so I get a chance to play tomorrow. Thanks!

This is a known thing with MAME. As depending on the set of MAME you use, you could require a number of different dependency files per game. Therefore, the only option we really have in place for MAME is to export the entire set you have in order to ensure the games are actually functional.

You’ll find the other ROM specific platforms will transfer based on your selection.

oh no… I went through the entire Mame collection putting every single game into it’s own platform genre too, but because the roms are in the same location, Launchbox still ignores the platform and still ignores the selected games. There’s not possible way I could spend another year sorting out the ones that work, my favourites and by genre so I’m pretty stuck with using Android Exporter I guess for now.

One workaround you can do is use the Export/Copy ROM files from Selected Games to New Folder option, located under Tools > File Management.

That will provide you with the ROM files you will need to transfer to your Android device. Then you can let the Android app download the media files.

Just know that this will only work properly if you are using a non-merged romset. If you are using any other set you will end up with broken games.
