LaunchBox issues with HLSL enable in MAME

I have found that with HLSL enabled in MAME the startup or loading screen will briefly show the desktop before showing the MAME game. In Big Box it will show the loading screen, game menu, and then MAME. The PAUSE screen for Launchbox also does not work with HLSL enabled. The pause screen does pop up but reset, save, load, and exit buttons do not work. When paused, the screen will show the desktop briefly and then show MAME but will not submit the desired function. When the HLSL setting is turned off all of these work correctly. I’ve played with the sleep settings in the AHK scripts for save, reset, and load with now luck.
