Am curious if you only ever want to see one cover for this title, why have the other covers in the first place?

    Hi Christian,

When importing ROMs in bulk, it is pretty common behaviour for most users to leave everything checked in the media section by default to download everything available in one go. While most covers will populate correctly, 1 or 2 can miss and this button can make it a bit more convenient to set a default cover for the few stragglers.

As seen from the forum thread, it isn't an uncommon use case. Thanks.

So your desire is to use the selected image regardless of what image type it is (or image type you’re using in the grid)?

    Hi Chris,

use the selected image regardless of what image type it is

This sounds like a good and flexible solution that can cover a lot of scenarios and also complement Region Priorities. When the default cover is set this way, it overrides the selection in the grid for those items. That would be reasonable for users to expect.

Quoting this from a member 3 years ago but still true today. Not an impossible task but could be made much less tedious with your suggested solution. Thanks.
