Launchbox Freezing When Trying to Enter Options Menu

Upon attempting to select the Options menu under Tools>Options, Launchbox freezes and becomes unresponsive. I am using LB 12.14 and Windows 11. I was originally able to enter the Options menu and then it stopped working. I have reinstalled LB and the very first time going into Options it froze up. No error shows up. I have to end LB via Task Manager or wait for Windows to say its unresponsive and end it there. I was previously able to get into Options upon restarting my PC but it would then become unresponsive again after using LB for awhile.

    I’ve only heard of this being reported one other time and that person reported that after applying a Windows Update for some reason it stopped. Can you confirm that you have all OS updates applied?

    Yes, I have all OS updates installed. I performed a full shutdown and restart of my PC after installing the updates and LB immediately froze up when I tried to enter Options.

    Can you attempt to open options again and let it get stuck. Then close the app (or kill it) and go to your \\LaunchBox\Logs\ and tell me if a log file has been generated there. If so could you please attach it to this ticket. Hopefully the log can explain why you’re having this issue.

    Options is now working for me again. I check the Log folder just in case and there were no previous logs generated. If the Options screen freezes up again I will do what you recommended and update this post.

    No, nothing changed. After you told me to confirm all OS updates were installed, I checked and I had one update available. I installed that and restarted which included a full shutdown of my PC. Upon launching LB and going into Options it immediately froze and had to force closed. I shutdown the PC for the night and upon launching LB the next day I have been unable to replicate the bug. Options menu is opening fine every time now. While I was having the issue doing a full shutdown of the PC seemed to clear it up every once in a while but other times it did not. I don’t know if that helps. No error logs were found in the folder you mentioned either.

    So it now froze again. This time after a shutdown I played Guild Wars 2 on Steam first directly from Steam. Afterwards I launched LB and tried to enter Options and it froze. It may have something to do with using Steam first and then LB. I’m not sure. No log was generated.

    I attached the log file. It appears to be looking for a file named XmlSerializers.dll and is unable to find it. Hope this helps.
