[Enhancement] Default box art for platform

Issue #7346 invalid
Glauco Fox created an issue

Can we get an option to set a default box art per platform in a way that, for instance, if I have missing boxes on Master System platform I would get a default white box with the grey grid and, if possible, the legend (name of the game) written as if printed on the box, or cases like computers where there are many missing box art we could get a floppy disk or whatever. I think that would enhance visuals a lot.

LB/BB already does this. In LB if you right click and edit a platform name. You can drag and drop a default image into the images panel then use then use the image name box to define that image as a "Default". You can set default images for 3D Box, 3D Cart, Box, and Cart.

If this is not exactly what you are requesting please elaborate more and I can reopen the ticket.

It would be something like this, you would have a background set for the platform and this could come by default from LaunchBox or the user could overwrite the default background. I just found this one picture, so bare with me… imagine you have a game called “Game Catalog” and you don’t have the box art for it. All those white squares and SEGA logo would be part of the background image, the title “Game Catalog” “1986” would come from a Text Label on the component that would read it from the game title. And that would provide us with dynamic boxes.

That could also be used on cartridges, where you would have the generic cartridge without the game name inscripted and that name would be dynamically added by launchbox with a text label or something
