Default spines for each platforms 3D box models?

Hiya, I really like the new implementation of 3D boxes in 13.1 and how you added different types of boxes like jewel cases, DVD's etc. I also like how by default for some platforms it recognizes the region of the box art like PlayStation. One thing I noticed though is that the spines are fairly basic. A solid colour and the clear logo in the middle. It makes sense, but I was thinking that for many of the platforms, especially consoles, a default spine image could quite easily be made and then perhaps put the clear logo in the middle, or solid text.

Like for PS2 you could have the standard white spine with solid text for PAL regions and the clear logo for NA boxes like the examples below. Maybe being able to align the clear logos to left, middle or right of the spine too. And to be able to edit these 3D box settings for every individual game would be awesome. I know that you could just download a set of spines for each platform but supposing they are hard to find then better default ones would add so much more to the set up.

I hope this is something that interests you.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. Just keep in mind that there’s about 180 platforms in our database, and each could contain multiple regional variants (like you are showing), so we are looking at around 300-500 default image spines to make this concept a reality.

I’ll keep this ticket open since it’s a cool concept.

Oh yeah for sure. Obviously creating these templates would be a community effort. Starting with the most common platforms and probably leaving computers till last (as always). Thanks for taking note.

Yeah, it might be easier for users to make a spine set and then release it as a pack, for others to add to their builds. In my mind the focus should be on obtaining good quality scans of the actual spines, rather than relying on fake ones generated from clear logos etc.
