Feature Request - Wizard ignore list

Issue #7562 new
Pasquale Crea created an issue

Allow user to add files & directories to a list that the“Import ROMs from Files Wizard” will ignore outright. This would be extremely useful for users who would like the “Scan for added roms” to not think they have new roms just because their Dreamcast / PS1 game has 30 Track.bin files that the emulator doesn’t point to directly.

It would be excellent if it could notice the Title that it is deriving from the filename is the same for multiple files and allow you to associate those with a given entry? Or just automatically add them to an ignore list. This would solve the Track problem fairly well.

Another reason for this is PS3 games. Allowing me to filter down to searching for just *.BIN files within the wizard, or having a platform setting to say that is the only file extension I care about when scanning for added roms. OR in the Import Wizard allow me to just type in an extension and only search for files with that extension.

This feature went from, “I thought this would be helpful.” to “Please, please, please implement this.”.

The addition of the auto import, which amazing by the way, has made this feature a need. I have several bin files for disk based consoles that show up every time. I have had to disable auto import in the meantime.

Another potential solution is allow multiple files to be associated with one game. Not in the existing multiple versions way. For example:

    • Game.cue
    • Game (Track 01).bin
    • Game (Track 02).bin

I understand automation of that process could be painful, but even a small amount of file association manually to be able to automate adds in the future would be huge.

Please Jason, I am begging here.
