Feature request: Option to export all versions of a rom

Hello, I’d like to discuss the export feature and what I think would be a nice improvement, especially for non USA rom user.

As I’m sure you already know, different versions of a rom are important to us non-native English speakers. Even though people often default to USA roms, Europe sets can multi-language support, local voiceovers, sometimes exclusive content. And then there is the NTSC-60Hz/PAL-50Hz problem. So it often comes to personal preference as of which region a person would use. Personally, if multiple versions of the same rom are available, I’ll try them out. If Europe runs at 60, then Europe it is. If USA offers multi language, then USA. If it’s a fighting or a racing game, I’d rather have 60fps even in English. For story heavy games, I might favor PAL. So it is very rom dependant. On my main PC, I have the space to store all of it and chose.

But let’s say I prepared a curated list, using Launchbox’s playlist. From within that list in LB, I can still select the version. If I want to export said list to my laptop, my only option is to export the set default version of the rom, I cannot chose to export every version. It is fine if I tested all versions and set my favorite region already, but it becomes harder to have multiple versions on the laptop to test. Same problem if I wanna share a rom folder with a friend. I’d like to be able to give them a curated list of fewer games but with multiple versions so they can chose what suits them. I don’t mind English but some people don’t speak it at all, while others prefer framerate. To me, it makes Launchbox’s great playlist system often useless.

I noticed that the export features does export all versions when it comes to multi-disc games, so I’m thinking if it can do it, maybe it would be possible to make it an option for every rom.

So there it is, the feature request I have would be to add an option in File Management > Export/Copy selected rom files where the user would chose between Export main file and Export all versions. This option window could replace the current explanatory message that says it will only export main files.

With the hope of seeing this feature implemented someday,

Respect to all your hard work

Have a nice day
