Hotkeys and/or Pause do not work in-game with Switch controller

Unable to pause using controller while using Switch controller setting on my 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth controller. This seems to be an issue that LB/BB has with Switch input.

Keyboard pause works in Launchbox/BigBox while playing Yuzu/Cemu
Xbox pause works in Launchbox/BigBox while playing Yuzu/Cemu
Switch pause does not work in Launchbox/Bigbox while playing Yuzu/Cemu

Switch pause works in Launchbox/Bigbox while playing Retroarch

I’ve confirmed my settings are correct, and my controller bindings for “Show Pause Screen” as well.

To reproduce:

Connect Switch controller
Run Switch or WiiU game via Launchbox or BigBox
Attempt to pause via controller hotkey
Fail
