Playlist Folder

Issue #8328 resolved
Danny Blais created an issue

I use a lot the Playlist in Launchbox to segment and organize my platform. The problem right now is that I have so many Playlist that scrolling from the first one to the last one takes forever. It would be nice to add an option to create group/folder just to better organize them. The same way you do it with your bookmarks on your browser.

Are you talking about in the LB UI or in the windows folder structure? Asking for clarification since you mentioned folder.

If Windows folders I will reopen ticket. If within LB/BB UI this already exists by using the "Platform Category" option. You can create new "Categories" and add each playlist to the specific categories to organize them.

In LB on the left hand pane make sure your list view is in "Platform Category" and not "Platform". Once in this view type right click any platform name and choose >Add >New Category. Fill out the data and call it what you want. Then edit the playlists you want. Go to the "Parents" tab when you edit a playlist and remove the check box from where the playlist is currently located and check the box for the Category you now want it to show up in.

Yes, what you just mentioned is all good and I’m aware of it.  What I’m asking is in Launchbox.  It’s just for usability.  All Playlist appear in a single list independently of how you organize it.  When I go and click on Add a Playlist I see all Playlist under it.That’s the list I would like to reduce I just want to be able to organise this without affecting my Launchbox library.

For example, I want to add a game to a playlist, I click « Add to Playlist » my playlist list show up and because the list is just so long it just take forever to find the playlist I want to use for that game.
